I love how you drew the hands. How did you end up doing this ? Did she ask you ? Or did you ask her ? Also did she pose for you or did you do a likeness based on a lot of different pictures ?

Thanks !

It was a mutual thing between the Suicide Girls and 3 artists = Andrew Bawidamann, Rich Black and Me.
They were going to be sharing booth space with all of us so I suggested we each do an art print of the model of our choice. Bawidamann went with Chloe, Black went with Posh and I went with Meow. I worked it out with Missy and that's basically how it went down.
I went through her photo sets and cobbled together the reference. I grabbed the head off of one photo but the eyes from another and the hair somewhere else. The rest I did with my own reference.
I geek out on hands. A friend of mine used to get on me for drawing rubbery dead hands so I've been working harder to make them look good and expressive.

I don't normally hafta nail a likeness so this poster drove me nuts. Bawidamann schooled me on drawing women and how the make up can bring a piece together. I finished coloring it in a van on my laptop enroute to the comic con.

Thanks dude. I also HATE nailing likenesses. The easy route which many great artists take like *cough* robert crumb *cough* is just to copy a photo. Good for practice but ultimately lame. Again I'm loving this.

Well that's kinda what I was doing. In the end I don't think anyone cares how you draw it as long as it looks like the person. The Crumb stuff (to me at least) is more of an exercise in technique. I wish I could use a pen like that guy. Also at this point he can do as he pleases.

awesome poster. it came out really well and the idea is even neat for a booth-sharing group.
